Tonje Hessen Schei
Tonje Hessen Schei is a Norwegian film director, producer, and screenwriter. She studied social anthropology at NTNU before taking a bachelor’s degree in film production at the University of Texas, in Austin, USA. She later majored in film production at NTNU (now: Master in Film and Video Production) at the Department of Arts and Media Studies1.
Her notable works include:
“Independent Intervention” (2006) – Director and Producer
“Play Again” (2010) – Director
“Drone” (2014) – Director and Writer, which won the Norwegian Gullruten award, the Amanda award, and the Golden Nymph Award
“Privacy of Wounds” (2018) – Producer
“iHuman” (2019) – Director and Producer234.
In 2023, she co-directed a documentary film called “Praying for Armageddon”. This documentary revolves around the influential movement of Christian fundamentalists in the US, who, with millions of dollars in backing, are advocating for the end of the world5678.
